The UK Marine Management Organisation has published Official Statistics: Monthly Sea Fisheries Statistics September 2026, a provisional release detailing landings for the month.
Dated 30 October 2026, the item on the agency's statistics page sets out provisional figures and tabulations for the month of September.
The published summary makes plain the two principal breakdowns presented: landings by UK and foreign vessels by UK port, and landings by UK vessels abroad.
Scope of the release
The document is the monthly statistical bulletin for sea fisheries covering the indicted month and presents monthly records of landings activity. The headline description indicates the data are organised by vessel nationality and by the place of landing, separating UK and foreign vessels at UK ports and recording where UK-flagged vessels have landed their catch overseas.
The format implied by the summary suggests the release is intended to provide users with a port-level view of where catches entered UK markets and with a complementary picture of UK vessel activity beyond domestic ports. The title and the brief accompanying note identify the dataset as provisional, signalling that the monthly tables are an interim publication.
Data status and interpretation
Provisional data are preliminary by definition and may be subject to later revision as returns are finalised and quality checks are completed. The MMO's dating of the item to 30 October 2026 indicates when this provisional monthly package was made publicly available.
Users of the statistics are therefore advised to treat the numbers as the current provisional record for September 2026 and to consult any subsequent releases for revised or finalised figures. The release's focus on both UK and foreign vessels at UK ports and UK vessels landing abroad provides two complementary lenses on the flow of landed fish into and out of the UK economy.
Taken together, the publication continues the routine monthly provision of sea fisheries statistics by the UK Marine Management Organisation for September 2026, as set out in the official release dated 30 October 2026. The report's headline description and date are those recorded on the MMO's statistics page.
